5 Flavorful Spinach Recipes
Popeye had it right when he said spinach makes him “strong to the finish.” Nutritious and delicious, spinach is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals – but you don’t have to just eat it raw (or creamed from a can!). Whether you’re just learning how to cook spinach or you’re already eating this versatile veggie daily, we’ve picked out a few of our favorite flavorful spinach recipes to share.
Hot Bacon Spinach Dip
Made with bacon, Monterey Jack cheese and savory onion seasoning, this spinach dip is a winner for every occasion.

Ingredients:
- 1 box (9 oz.) frozen chopped spinach
- 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 envelope Lipton® Recipe Secrets® Onion Recipe Soup & Dip Mix
- 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
- ½ cup chopped cooked bacon
- Crackers, for serving
Ingredients:
- 1 box (9 oz.) frozen chopped spinach
- 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 envelope Lipton® Recipe Secrets® Onion Recipe Soup & Dip Mix
- 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
- ½ cup chopped cooked bacon
- Crackers, for serving
Directions:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Cook spinach according to package directions; drain well and pat dry.
- In medium bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream and onion soup mix. Add spinach and 1½ cups shredded cheese; mix well. Spread mixture in 9” glass pie plate.
- Bake, uncovered, 20-25 minutes until heated through. Top with remaining ½ cup cheese and bacon. Bake 2-3 minutes, until cheese is melted. Serve with crackers.
Apple Spinach Chicken Burgers
Shredded apples and chopped spinach keep these grilled chicken burgers moist and juicy!

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp. Kroger Brand Honey Mustard
- 1 lb. ground chicken
- 1 package (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1 apple, grated
- 1 tsp. coarse salt
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns, toasted
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp. Kroger Brand Honey Mustard
- 1 lb. ground chicken
- 1 package (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
- 1 apple, grated
- 1 tsp. coarse salt
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns, toasted
Directions:
- Heat grill to medium heat.
- In small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and honey mustard; set aside.
- In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients, except buns. Mix well; divide into 4 burger patties.
- Oil grill grates; cook burger patties 10-12 minutes, flipping once, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Serve burgers on toasted bun with a generous spread of honey mustard mixture.
Alfredo Baked Chicken and Pasta
This classic pasta dish is a great comfort food – and an iconic addition as the primo in your Italian feast!

Ingredients:
- 1 package HemisFares™ Fusilli Long Spirals Pasta
- 1 jar HemisFares™ Truffle Alfredo Pasta Sauce
- 4 slices Private Selection™ Pancetta, diced
- 2 chicken breasts
- 2 Tbsp. HemisFares™ Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 4 oz. fresh spinach
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- Salt, to taste
Ingredients:
- 1 package HemisFares™ Fusilli Long Spirals Pasta
- 1 jar HemisFares™ Truffle Alfredo Pasta Sauce
- 4 slices Private Selection™ Pancetta, diced
- 2 chicken breasts
- 2 Tbsp. HemisFares™ Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 4 oz. fresh spinach
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- Salt, to taste
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease 13”x9” casserole dish. Bring large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions and drain.
- In large saucepan, cook chicken in olive oil until browned on each side and cooked through, about 4-6 minutes per side (chicken should reach internal temperature of 165°F). Remove chicken from heat and carefully shred.
- Add spinach to pan. Cook until wilted, about 2 minutes.
- Using same large saucepan, add pancetta, chicken and cooked pasta. Stir in Alfredo; add salt to taste.
- Transfer pasta to casserole dish. Sprinkle evenly with shredded provolone.
- Bake 10 minutes, or until cheese bubbles and top browns.
Keto Greek Spinach Cauli-Rice
Inspired by a Greek favorite known as spanakorizo (a classic, country-style vegetarian pilaf), this keto-friendly dish swaps traditional rice with riced cauliflower – but the beloved big flavors of fresh lemon, dill, spinach and feta remain the same.

- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 packages (12 oz.) Kroger Brand Recipe Beginnings® Riced Cauliflower
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
- 5 oz. spinach, roughly chopped
- 3 Tbsp. fresh dill, chopped
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 6 oz. crumbled feta cheese
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 packages (12 oz.) Kroger Brand Recipe Beginnings® Riced Cauliflower
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
- 5 oz. spinach, roughly chopped
- 3 Tbsp. fresh dill, chopped
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 6 oz. crumbled feta cheese
Directions:
- In large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Cook onion and garlic 2-3 minutes, until softened and fragrant.
- Add riced cauliflower; raise heat to medium-high. Cook 5-8 minutes, until tender and excess liquid has evaporated.
- Stir in spinach. Continue cooking 1-2 minutes, until wilted.
- Stir in dill, lemon zest and juice. Top with feta crumbles. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Spinach Pad Thai
This spinach-loaded Pad Thai offers comforting flavors and lots of nutrients. Try adding additional protein, such as tofu or shrimp, for an even more filling dish.

- 8 oz. dried thin rice stick noodles
- ¼ cup fish sauce or soy sauce
- ⅓ cup white vinegar
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. canola oil
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 4 cups baby spinach
- ½ cup green onions, cut into 1” pieces
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- ½ cup dry roasted peanuts, roughly chopped
- ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
- Lime wedges
Ingredients:
- 8 oz. dried thin rice stick noodles
- ¼ cup fish sauce or soy sauce
- ⅓ cup white vinegar
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. canola oil
- 1 tsp. minced garlic

- In small bowl, mix together fish sauce, vinegar, sugar and paprika; set aside.
- In large pan over medium heat, heat oil. Cook garlic 15 seconds. Add eggs; scramble until just cooked.
- Pour in sauce mixture; bring to boil. Stir in noodles and spinach; toss. Cook 1-2 minutes, until spinach is wilted and noodles absorb some sauce.
- Remove from heat; mix in green onions, sprouts and peanuts.
- Garnish with cilantro and lime wedges.
